Flyability Elios 3 is the latest inspection and confined space drone from Swiss company Flyability. Elios 3 features a LiDAR payload, dedicated inspection payload, an expansion port for third-party payloads, improved flight performance, and is the start of a shift in thinking for the company.
More than a flying camera
Elios 3 is a flying platform encased in a protective cage that makes inspections faster, safer, and more efficient. The new LiDAR payload enhances this by adding an extra layer of data capture and safety.
On top of the LiDAR unit, Elios 3 features an expansion port that allows any other payload up to six hundred grams to be added, opening future possibilities and use cases as well as collecting more data in a single flight.
Elios 3 is made to be customised for the specific demands of each user, letting you attach the payload you need so you can use the tool as you like, and allowing it to grow and improve over time with new payloads or software solutions.

FlyAware™ SLAM engine
FlyAware™ is the unique combination of computer vision, LiDAR technology, and a powerful NVIDIA graphic engine. Acting as a centimetre-accurate indoor GPS, it builds real-time 3D maps enabling the drone to sense its surroundings instantaneously. Flyaware™ allows for ground-breaking stability and highly accurate locational awareness.
3D live map and reporting
While Elios 3 is operational the onboard LiDAR payload creates a 3D map of the asset in real-time. This provides major benefits for pilots and clients. The pilot gains an extra layer of situational awareness making it easier to know where they've flown, while displaying Elios 3's flight path to make navigating out of an asset a breeze.
Point clouds
Data captured by Elios 3 is accessible in Flyability's Inspector 4.0 software with points of interest captured in flight being readily available in a high density point cloud offering a reliable data localisation system.
Thanks to an integration with GeoSLAM’s software suite, Elios 3’s LiDAR data can be processed to build survey-grade 3D models of your asset enabling surveyors to map the truly inaccessible.
Rugged design
Elios 3 has been designed to be collision-resilient with its outer carbon fibre cage ensuring the toughest of collisions aren't felt by the internals. Flyability has also built Elios 3's flight controller to aid in this by working to keep the drone in the air during a collision.
Elios 3's reversing motors are also able to flip the drone back up after a collision, making it the only drone on the market capable of recovering from flipping upside-down without crashing.
