Sphere Drones announces strategic partnership with Aptella to revolutionise autonomous scanning and mapping operations with HubX for businesses across APAC.
Sphere Drones is excited to announce a new strategic partnership with Aptella, a leading technology solutions provider. This collaboration aims to enhance the capabilities of autonomous scanning and mapping operations for customers across various industries, including resources, mining, construction, and emergency services.
This strategic partnership expands the reach of HubX across APAC
Under this agreement, Aptella will distribute Sphere Drones’ innovative mobile payload platform, HubX. Designed for seamless data collection in remote, hazardous, and hard-to-access sites, HubX stands out as a self-sustaining, mobile solution that can be readily deployed anywhere. Its bespoke solar power system and 5G/satellite internet solutions ensure continuous operations with built-in redundancies, giving businesses the confidence to deploy HubX in any location.
“Our team is focused on sourcing and deploying best-in-breed innovation from around the world for our customers,” said Martin Nix, CEO of Aptella. “It is an honour to partner with an Australian-based development team and collaborate with Sphere Drones to bring this unique, full-service HubX solution to our customers.”
Enhanced versatility and flexibility to suit any project and site
HubX is not just a mobile payload platform, it is a versatile solution designed for Drone-in-a-Box (DiaB) and terrestrial scanning tasks. The large configurable payload bay allows businesses to mix and match enterprise payloads to suit their specific needs. From seamlessly integrated DiaB to terrestrial scanner payloads, HubX supports plug-and-play functionality for any third-party hardware, ensuring it can adapt to various project requirements.
When coupled with DJI's Dock 2, HubX simplifies DiaB operations, enabling businesses to be operational on delivery day and have pilots ready to fly within 30 minutes of arriving on site. This configuration accelerates the adoption of drone operations and paves the way for beyond visual line-of-sight (BVLOS) operations for business across industries.
Obtaining certification to operate drones remotely via a remote operations centre (ReOC) can be complex and time-consuming. The HubX managed services services addresses this challenge, allowing customers to deploy the platform immediately while working towards their own certification if desired.
“We are thrilled and excited to announce our partnership with Aptella,” said Paris Cockinos, CEO of Sphere Drones. “With Aptella’s commitment to HubX, expertise in the mining and construction sectors, and their ability to support customers throughout Australia and New Zealand, they were a natural choice as a channel partner. We look forward to delivering HubX to untapped key verticals, including civil construction, and expanding our presence in the global market.”
Aptella, with locations across all States and Territories of Australia, Southeast Asia, and New Zealand, will offer HubX demonstrations and initial deployments, working closely with Sphere Drones for technical support.
“Adding HubX to our drone technology offering gives customers ultimate choice when selecting the best fit for their application and business needs,” said Gavin Docherty, Market Development Manager for drones at Aptella.
