DJI has launched the DJI Zenmuse H30 and Zenmuse H30T hybrid payloads for its Matrice 300 and Matrice 350 enterprise drones. The new payloads build on the H20 series with a number of improvements across the board.
Continue reading as we explore what's new and improved on the H30 series broken down into each sensor.
What's improved?
General improvements
DJI's new Zenmuse H30 series is now IP54 rated to be inline with the IP rating of the Matrice 350's. Like the Zenmuse L2, the H30 series is compatible with the Matrice 350 and only compatible with the Matrice 300 when using the DJI RC Plus.
DJI has also increased the controllable motion range of the gimbal itself and has managed to reduce the jitter translated into photos and videos.

Smart feature improvements
H30 series now features smart capture, electronic dehazing, and improved foreground stabilisation for enhanced photo and video quality. Pre-recording to ensure data isn't missed in the case you forget to record is now available.
DJI has improved the night scene mode on the H30 series by including an IR filter and an NIR auxiliary light, giving you more control over data capture to meet your requirements.

Wide camera improvements
H30 series' wide camera has more than doubled its megapixel count at 48MP with a larger 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor. The wide camera also features the night vision mode previously exclusive to the H20N with an increased 25fps, higher ISO value of up to 409,600, and an improved night vision effect. H.265 and VBR are also supported.

Zoom camera improvements
The zoom camera on the H30 series now features a slightly larger CMOS sensor at 1/1.8 inches and doubles the megapixels of the H20 series at 40MP (10x the H20N) while also increasing the video resolution to 3840x2160. Optical zoom has been increased to 34x with the maximum hybrid zoom now at 400x.
A new NIR auxiliary light for the zoom camera has been added to the H30 series, allowing for illumination in extremely dark environments. The zoom also features the night vision mode previously exclusive to the H20N with an increased 25fps, higher ISO value of up to 819,200, and an improved night vision effect. H.265 and VBR are also supported.

Thermal camera improvements
The thermal camera on the H30T has seen an impressive upgrade with a 4x bump in resolution taking it to 1280x1024 with a maximum digital zoom of 32x. The thermal sensor can now measure temperature ranges from -20°C all the way to 1600°C when using a combination of high gain, low gain, and a new IR density filter.
H30T's thermal sensor now supports measurement parameter configuration and new ultra-HD and super-resolution modes for improved clarity when using it for search operations.
