As you may know, technology moves fast in the world of drones and it can be difficult to keep up. The good news is we're here to make your life a little bit easier when it comes to choosing a solution. Here at Sphere Drones we pride ourselves on our expertise in the commercial and industrial market for drones. With DJI's announcement of their most advanced enterprise drone series, we think it's a good idea to help you differentiate the various models and options to find the one that best suits your needs.
The Matrice 200 series is built to endure a variety of uses for enterprise users. All three aircrafts perform exceptionally and will complete your desired tasks with precision and ease. They were created for professional users to perform aerial inspections and collect data. From building structure inspections to search and rescue, this aircraft assists in the tedious jobs from a height.
There are three aircrafts in the series:
-
MATRICE 200
The Matrice 200 aircraft is the basic version of this industrial quadcopter. Although it lacks some of the revolutionary features the other two in the series include, it still remains an excellent option because of the dual battery system, FlightAutonomy, DJI Airsense, ADS-B receiver and FPV camera.
-
MATRICE 210
The Matrice 210 upholds all the features of the M200 however it bares universal ports on the aircraft itself as well as being able to attach multiple playloads in different configurations.
-
MATRICE 210 RTK
The Matrice 210 is the top of the line model in the series. It also includes all the features of the M210 as well as an in-built RTK system. The RTK (Real Tim eKinematic) functionality ensures millimetre precision navigation in real time FPV. It also bares the ability to attach two cameras enabling multiple payload configurations.
The aircraft folds inwards for easy transportation and set-up which is vital as it is essentially an additional tool. All three aircrafts are weatherproofed with the IP43 ingress protection to ensure that the aircraft can endure the elements. It can withstand temperatures of -20°C with inbuilt heating, as well as temperatures of up to 45°C.
All three aircrafts are designed to operate with a dual battery system. Flight times vary in regards to the Payload (cameras attached) on the aircraft.

-
Zenmuse XT
The XT is a highly sensitive thermal imaging gimbal that can shoot 640/30fps or 336/30fps depending on the model of the camera. It includes a digital zoom as well as spot metering and temperature at a mid-point. The main use for the XT is to reveal when equipment, buildings and structures are damaged as well as assisting rescue squads in locating lost people.
-
Zenmuse X4S
The X4S is a 3 axis gimbal with an impressive 1 inch sensor improving the image quality drastically, to give you an idea, an iPhone has a 1/3 inch sensor. The X4S light weight design and high speed image processing makes it perfect for still imaging.
-
Zenmuse X5S
The X5S is a high quality camera which uses a new image processing system, CineCore 2.0 that can now process larger files faster, capturing 5.2K video at a rate of 4.2GBps.
-
Zenmuse Z30
The Z30 has a dramatic optical zoom of up to 30x and a digital zoom of 6x. It is ideal for detailed inspections that can eliminate the need for crane work. As the zoom is remarkably powerful, any motion from the drone in flight is very notable. Hence DJI have incorporated leading gimbal technology in stabilisation.
-
Dual Gimbals
Dual payloads can attach to the M210 and M210 RTK to capture double the data. For example while one camera captures a high quality image, the other captures thermal images. This cuts down the need for double flights and increases job efficiency.
-
Upward Gimbal
The upward gimbal is used to gain visuals from areas that are almost impossible to reach also illuminating the need for crane work.
The Matrice 200 Series is made for professional uses that include (and some solutions DJI recommends):
• Power Line Inspection (M210 RTK + Z30 + XT)
• Search and Rescue (M210 + Z30 + XT)
• Wind Turbine Inspection (M210 + Z30)
• Bridge Inspection (M210 + Z30)
• Solar Panel Inspection (M210 + X4S + XT)
• Telecom Inspection (M210 RTK + X4S)
• Offshore Rig Inspection (M210 RTK + X4S)
• Precision Agriculture (M210 + X4S + XT)
• Firefighting (M210 + Z30 + XT)
• Construction Site Mapping (M210 RTK + X45)
The Matrice 600 and Matrice 600 Pro on the other hand offer a lot more. All Zenmuse cameras and gimbals are compatible with both aircrafts, these include the ones listed above as well as:
• Zenmuse X5R
• Zenmuse Z15-A7
• Zenmuse Z15-GH4
• Ronin-MX+Hasselblad A5D
• Ronin-MX+Red Epic
The M600 is designed for professional aerial photography and industrial application. Its integrated with many of DJI's most powerful technologies such as the A3 flight controller, Lightbridge 2 transmission system, Intelligent Batteries as well as Battery Management system. The max payload on the M600 is 6kg which allows it to fly with the Ronin-MX gimbal and a variety of cameras. This really sets it apart from the M200 series as well as its retractable landing gear that grants 360° with out obstruction.
