FLIR Vue TZ20 plug-and-play thermal payload is here

The Vue TZ20 is the latest plug-and-play thermal payload from FLIR. The TZ20 integrates with the DJI Matrice 200 and Matrice 300 RTK drone platforms, ensuring steady thermal footage is captured with up to 20x zoom.

Overview

The FLIR Vue TZ20 payload uses two Boson thermal sensors capable of a 95° wide-angle all the way to a tight 18° angle. This gives pilots the flexibility to see the big picture of a situation and zoom in on key points to improve their understanding of the problem.

The dual Boson thermal sensors have a resolution of 640 x 512 with a refresh rate of 30 Hz. Stills and multi-pages are captured in TIFF format, while videos are captured in MPEG. There are two microSD card slots, with included cards, allowing photos and videos to be stored on different cards.

The payload uses DJI’s Skyport 2.0 interface to connect to the drone and is controlled via the DJI Pilot App. This allows all the settings and modes to be adjusted directly from the same app used to fly the drone, making it a one-stop solution.

It has an IP44 rating, which means it can withstand solid objects larger the 1 mm in size and water splashes from all directions. The payload can operate in temperatures of -20°C to 45°C, while the storage can operate in temperatures of  -20°C to 60°C.

The FLIR Vue TZ20 dual thermal payload is available right now on our website. If you are interested in finding out more about it, get in touch with our sales team today.

Use cases

FLIR intends the Vue TZ20 to be used by those in the inspection and public safety industries looking for qualitative data due to the non-radiometric sensors. The 20x zoom is also perfect for applications that require more pixels on a single target.

Below are some of the intended use-cases in the inspection and public safety industries:

  • Firefighting
  • Search and rescue
  • Law enforcement
  • Security and surveillance
  • Wildlife management
  • Waste management
  • Solar inspection
  • Roof inspection
  • Crop inspection
