DJI released its newest multispectral drone, DJI Mavic 3M (Multispectral) featuring four multispectral bands including, near-infrared, red, red edge, and green with the addition of a 20MP 4/3 CMOS RGB sensor.
Notable changes to the Mavic 3M (Multispectral) includes the following:
Multispectral camera
- Removal of the blue multispectral band (commonly used for atmosphere and deep-water imaging)
- Increased megapixel size from 2MP to 5MP
- Increased gain range from 1x-8x to 1x-32x
- Increased FOV from 62.7° to 73.91°
- Increased electronic shutter range from 1/100-1/10000s to 1/30~1/12800 s
- Change in near-infrared band from 840nm ± 26 nm to 860nm ± 26 nm (slightly improved vegetation and soil imaging)
RGB camera
- Increased sensor size from 1/2.9" to 4/3
- Increased megapixel size from 2MP to 20MP
- Increased ISO range from 200-800 to 100-6400
- Addition of a mechanical shutter
- 4k, 1080p video support added
- Increased FOV from 62.7° to 84°
