Chasing launches Chasing M2 PRO Max subsea ROV

Chasing Innovations has announced its latest subsea ROV, Chasing M2 PRO Max with eight vectored thrusters, a top speed of three knots, maximum dive depth of 200 metres, a maximum horizontal operational of 400 metres, and five accessory ports built in.

Accessory ports

Chasing M2 PRO Max features five expansion ports allowing for up to five accessories to be connected at a single time. The two bottom ports double as a built-in connector for a docking station, removing the need for an external docking station.

M2 PRO Max has one network port on the top, a serial port on either side, and a network port and serial port underneath. There is also a number of power ports that provide accessories, such as the new floodlight system with power.

Modular rail system

Allowing for more flexible use of the five accessory ports, the top of the M2 PRO Max features a mounting rail system, allowing payloads and accessories to by quickly mounted and removed as needed.

24/7 missions

The M2 PRO Max works with Chasing's shore-based power supply system (C-SPSS) giving it up to 1500w of power allowing for 24/7 operations. Chasing has designed a new power connection design that mimics that of a battery system, which allows it to be slid in and out of the M2 PRO Max with ease.

Improved motors

Chasing has improved the design of its motors with C-Motor 2.0. The new motors have an improved anti-stuck design making for easier cleaning and increased reliability.

The new motors on the M2 PRO Max make up an eight-motor vector layout using new materials, technology, and fluid design, which equals a power increase of 30%.

External floodlights

Chasing's new external floodlight design places the lighting system above and out to the sides of M2 PRO Max. The floodlights produce a total of 8000 lumens and sit at 150 degrees, which means subjects in front of the subsea ROV are lit up well without debris floating in the water being lit up, meaning cleaner footage.

The lighting system can also be folded down to the side of the ROV, allowing for flexibility based on the operating requirements.

Broader operating range

M2 PRO Max has a maximum dive depth of 200 metres with a maximum horizontal operating radius of 400 metres. Combining M2 PRO Max with various tether cables allows for a broader range of operations.

4k stabilised camera

M2 PRO Max features an F1.8 electronically stabilised camera. The camera uses a 1/2.3" Sony CMOS sensor, allowing for 12MP photos, 4k and 1080p video, timelapses, and 240fps slow-motion video.
