As the impact of the pandemic continues to remove the ability for many people to see doctors in person or are in a remote area, solutions have been created in no time. Telemedicine continues to grow with Spot being able to help conduct patient interviews and even deliver medicine and other goods.

How does telemedicine work?

  1. Spot can be setup with an iPad, thermal camera, microphone, and an array of sensors to allow monitoring and communication between the patient and doctor.
  2.  Once setup, the patient will enter the room where Spot is waiting, with the doctor 'in' the room as well. If quarantine is needed Spot can also be used to deliver medicine and other supplies into the room, contact free.
  3. The consult will take place, with Spot providing as much support as possible (capturing data).
  4. The doctor will then go over the data captured and reach out to the patient if needed.

Benefits of using landborne robots

  • Humans are removed from contagious areas, stopping the spread of virus, leading to less transmission and deaths.
  • Landborne robots like Spot can be deployed within minutes, allowing doctors in another city to assess a patient.
  • More data is captured as Spot can be equipped with thermal cameras, RGB cameras, microphones, temperature sensors and more, potentially leading to a faster and more accurate diagnosis.
