Oil & Gas
Monitoring and surveillance are fundamental to assess production, environmental compliance and safety in the oil and gas industry. Traditionally, these activities have not only been prohibitively expensive but employees have been put at great risk to manage these tasks.
Drone technology now allows oil and gas companies to efficiently perform monitoring, inspection, prospecting and exploration activities without the involvement of its own personnel and at a fraction of the time and cost of traditional and resource-heavy methods.
Other base applications of drone technology include topside, under the deck, splash zone and flare stack inspection. They are also now used for the monitoring and inspection of onshore and offshore structures to detect potential issues and hazards. For example, accurately analyzing confined spaces such as storage tanks that are difficult and sometimes impossible for human inspection.
