The market for commercial drones – more formally known as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) – is growing at a rapid rate. In Australia alone, there are over 1,200 drone operators servicing a wide range of enterprise requirements.

But it is a market that is still in the early stages. Yes, enterprises are benefitting from drones for applications from agriculture to energy generation, but drones are a long way from becoming the norm.

In other words, your company can still benefit from early adopter status. The benefits of drones in enterprise settings is a topic for another time, but we’ll point to three key benefits:

  1. Go where humans can't
  2. Reduces costs
  3. Boost safety

KEY POINTS

  • Assess your requirements
  • Create your drone programme
  • Implementing your drone programme
