Are you one of those people is ready to take your photographic experience to another level? You really want to purchase a pack of filters but you're just so unsure which ones will do the job? We've created a table to help you decide!

 Type: Filters: When To Use:
DJI Phantom 3 3-Pack

CP:  Used to enhance aerial videos by reducing the amount of light reflecting off the ground, sky, or water. Removing this reflecting light allows the Phantom 3 to capture beautifully saturated colours and improves contrast.

ND4: This  filter is the middle shade used for filming on mild days, i.e. partly cloudy or during the golden hours. This filter helps reduce highlights as well as reduces lens flare when shooting into the sun. This is the most commonly used of the two ND filters.

ND8: The darkest shade and should be used on very bright days. This filter helps prevent lens flare, and reduces any mild rolling shutter. This filter also slows the shutter speed enough to blur the propellers when they are in frame.

CP: Used in all conditions to help reduce glare when shutter-speed control is not an issue.

ND4: Best used at dawn or dusk when the camera is natively shooting at 1/250th.

ND8: For use when cloudy/mostly cloudy and the camera is shooting at 1/500th.

DJI Phantom 3 6-Pack

CP: Helps enhance aerial videos by reducing the amount of light reflecting off of the ground, leaving behind beautifully saturated colors and also improving contrast. This CP filter reduces the camera's shutter speed by 1.6-stops.

ND8: 3-stop filter used on cloudy to partly cloud days for smooth cinematic video.

ND16: 4-stop filter used on a partly cloudy to mildly sunny day where we need to knock the shutter down by 4 stops to achieve a shutter of 1/60th.

ND32: 5-Stop filter used on bright days. This filter takes the shutter speed down by 5 stops. This is a very dark filter so it should only be used where there is enough available light to reduce. We use this shooting in the desert or over snow on very bright days.

ND8/PL: This filter reduces the shutter speed by 3 stops while also providing polarization. Perfect for conditions that are too bright for the CP filter, the ND8/PL allows you to reduce the shutter speed 3 stops while also capturing beautifully saturated colors.

ND16/PL: Provides 4 stops of shutter speed reduction while also providing polarization. This is our go-to filter for sunny days where we want to capture saturated colors and improve saturation.

CP: Used in all conditions to help reduce glare when shutter-speed control is not an issue.

ND8: For use when cloudy/mostly cloudy and the camera is shooting at 1/500th.

ND16: Best for partly cloudy or mostly sunny conditions when the camera is at 1/1000th.

ND32: For use in very bright and sunny conditions when the camera is shooting at 1/1250th.

ND8/PL: Best used on cloudy/mostly cloudy days when polarisation is needed.

ND16/PL: For use in mostly sunny flying conditions when polarisation is needed.

DJI Phantom 3 Cinema Series (Vivid)

ND4/PL: This filter reduces the cameras shutter speed by 2 f-stops and polarizes light. We use this filter most often when filming at dusk or dawn, or on cloudy days.

ND8/PL: Will reduce the cameras shutter speed by 3 f-stops which makes this the perfect filter for partly cloudy days. The built in polarizer reduces glare and increases color saturation.

ND16/PL: This is our go to filter when it is sunny out. It reduces the shutter speed by 4 stops and polarizes the scene for capturing vivid colors even on bright sunny days.

ND4/PL: Best used at dawn or dusk when polarisation is needed.

ND8/PL: Best used on cloudy/mostly cloudy days when polarisation is needed.

ND16/PL: For use in mostly sunny flying conditions when polarisation is needed.

DJI Phantom 3 Cinema Series (Shutter)

ND16: Used on partly cloudy to mildly sunny days where we need to knock the shutter down by 4 stops to achieve a shutter of 1/60th.

ND32: The 5-Stop ND filter is what we use on extremely bright days. This is a very dark filter so it should only be used where there is enough available light to reduce. We use this shooting in the desert or over snow on very bright days.

ND64: Designed to give you control of your shutter speed. The filter reduces shutter speed to 1/60th or 1/50th on extremely bright days. The slower shutter speed allows you to capture epic, cinematic quality content even in the brightest conditions.

ND16: Best for partly cloudy or mostly sunny conditions when the camera is at 1/1000th.

ND32: For use in very bright and sunny conditions when the camera is shooting at 1/1250th.

ND64: Ideal for extremely bright conditions; such as mid-day snow, water or desert shots.

DJI Phantom 3 Filter ND32/PL Perfect for shooting over water or snow while reducing the shutter speed by 5 stops. The filter has a precision threaded aircraft aluminium frame for smooth installation and removal. The lightweight design ensures the gimbal will operate smoothly and consistently. This filter is a great addition for capturing vivid content on very bright days. Use in extremely bright and sunny conditions when polarisation is also needed.

Want to keep your filters safe when not using them? We have a Polar Pro 3 Pack Case or Polar Pro 6 Pack Case available for purchase! Need to protect your lens whilst travelling? Pick up a Phantom 3 Lens Cover and Gimbal Lock suitable for the Phantom 4. You can even use the Polar Pro Drone Pen, a lens cleaner, to clean your lenses prior to use.
